Sand Castle: A Timeless Handwritten Font for Digital Design
I recently downloaded Sand Castle to test in a new creative portfolio site I’ve been building for a client. As a web designer who values both personality and performance, I wanted a font that felt personal but still held up across devices and screen sizes. It’s also worth noting that if you're designing for accessibility, you’ll want to ensure sufficient contrast and avoid using it at very small sizes, especially on dark backgrounds.
Pairing Sand Castle with Other Fonts
Font pairing is crucial in web design, and Sand Castle pairs beautifully with clean, modern sans serifs. I used it alongside Montserrat for a coaching website and found the combination gave the site a polished, contemporary edge. For more editorial-style layouts, a simple serif like Merriweather also works well to balance the script’s organic feel.
