Hello House: A Handwritten Font for Modern Campaign Design
Choosing the Right Typeface for a Product Launch Series
I was finalizing visuals for a client’s new wellness tea line launch when I opened the mockup preview on my phone. The original sans serif headline looked clean, but lacked warmth. I needed a font that felt personal, inviting, and subtly elegant—something that would stand out in a fast-scrolling feed without looking overdesigned. That’s when I tried Hello House.
Hello House is a script font with a soft, handwritten charm that leans into the emotional side of brand communication. It’s not overly dramatic like some calligraphy fonts, nor is it too casual like a basic brush script. Instead, it strikes a balance between legibility and character, making it ideal for campaign moments where tone matters as much as clarity.
How Hello House Performs in Real Campaign Visuals
For the tea launch, I used Hello House as the main headline font across Instagram Stories, Pinterest pins, and YouTube thumbnails. It worked especially well on the Instagram carousel posts where the brand’s tagline needed to feel human and approachable. The font’s slight texture and natural flow gave the visuals a handcrafted feel without compromising professionalism.
On thumbnails, where contrast and clarity are key, Hello House held up well when overlaid on soft background images. I made sure to use it at a larger size and added a subtle drop shadow to maintain readability on mobile screens. It performed best with light backgrounds, though it still worked on darker tones when I adjusted the text color to a crisp white.
Where Hello House Shines (and Where It Falls Short)
This font is best suited for short, impactful text. I used it for campaign headers, quote graphics, and branded template titles, and it performed beautifully in each. Its elegant flow makes it ideal for:
- Instagram post headlines
- Email banner titles
- Pinterest quote pins
- YouTube thumbnails
- Webinar banners
- Product teaser headers
However, I wouldn’t recommend using Hello House for body copy, long captions, or detailed descriptions. It lacks the structure needed for extended reading and can feel overwhelming in dense layouts. It’s also not the best fit for formal or corporate branding, where clarity and neutrality are more important than personality.
Font Pairing Tips for Hello House
To keep the design balanced, I paired Hello House with Avenir Next, a clean sans serif. This combination gave the visuals a modern yet warm feel. Hello House handled the emotional headline, while Avenir Next kept the supporting text clear and functional.
You could also pair it with:
- Playfair Display – for a more editorial, high-contrast look
- Montserrat – for a contemporary, geometric feel
- Merriweather – for a softer serif alternative
- Open Sans – for a neutral, readable contrast
The key is to let Hello House be the standout element while grounding the rest of the typography in something clean and structured.
Practical Design Considerations Before Using Hello House
Before finalizing the client’s brand templates, I double-checked the font files included with Hello House. It comes with a set of alternates and ligatures that add variety to headlines. I used a few stylistic alternates in the Pinterest campaign to avoid repetition and add subtle visual interest.
It supports multiple formats—TTF, OTF, WOFF—so it’s compatible with most design tools and web platforms. It also includes multilingual characters, which was important for the client’s international launch plans.
Most importantly, the license allows for commercial use across digital ads, branded templates, and client projects, which makes it a solid investment for agencies and freelancers alike.
